We originally stripped the dark reddy-purple, stripped wallpaper in June 2004 but didn't get a chance to work on the hallway until June the following year.
Having decided to use textured paint instead of wallpaper we left it a basic white until October of this year when we finally found time to finish it!
The Hallway Gallery
For various reasons the hallway looked more or less like pics 1&2 for about a year. Then in June 2005 we finally got a chance to sand, plaster and apply undercoat.

Pics 3&4 - Steve get's down to some serious sanding and plastering!
We'd bought a light beige wallpaper to save on painting but it looked awful once it was up so we tried the embossed paper 'n' paint style used in the bedroom, however this proved difficult to hang straight. Steve took the executive decision to paint the walls with white textured masonry paint and it remained that way until October 2006 when we finally had some time and money to finish it off.
We decided to paint the end wall a deep red to show off Steve's celtic wall-hanging he'd bought in Ireland last year and the 2 long walls were to be cream (same colour as the kitchen).
In a last minute inspiration - we decided to use our spare floor tiles to cover the original beige ones.
Now all we need to do is put up our coatrails on the lefthandside and dig out a nice picture and mirror for the righthand wall...watch this space!
